Jabari Smith Jr. delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 33 points, to lead the Houston Rockets to a thrilling 100-99 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA 2K24 Summer League held at Thomas and Mack Center on Friday.

The Trail Blazers started strong, establishing a 12-4 lead early in the game. However, the resilient Rockets fought back, narrowing the gap to just two points by the end of the first quarter. The Blazers managed to maintain their advantage throughout the second quarter and held a six-point lead at halftime. Despite the deficit, the Rockets remained within striking distance, entering the final quarter trailing by only five points. With renewed energy in the fourth quarter, the Rockets gained momentum, resulting in multiple lead changes. In a dramatic turn of events, Smith Jr. sealed the comeback victory for his team with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, igniting a wild celebration.

Smith Jr. showcased his versatility, contributing not only 33 points but also seven rebounds, two assists, and a block, all in 31 minutes of play. Jabari Walker also recorded a double-double, contributing 15 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Scoot Henderson put up a commendable performance with 15 points, five rebounds, six assists, and a steal.
