Surprise! On Thursday, Lana Del Rey was spotted trading in her vintage style for a Waffle House uniform while pulling a shift at the Florence, Alabama branch. Fans across social media went wild after circulating photos of Del Rey brewing coffee behind the counter and donning a “Lana” name tag.
The singer was also caught on video asking patrons to kindly not film somebody without their permission. But that didn’t stop fans from snapping pics as Del Rey paused between tasks.
Karina Cisneros Juarez, who had the chance to meet Del Rey during her shift, told AL.com how awe-inspiring it was. “It was a bit surreal,” Juarez said. “I just told her how much I loved her music and her work in general. She was super lovely and incredibly nice.”
Turns out even with fame comes the responsibility of keeping up with your side-jobs, as well as demonstrating kindness towards others. We can’t wait to see where else Lana pops up next!
Lana Del Rey’s surprise visit to the Waffle House in Florence, Alabama has left fans speculating on the reasons behind her visit. Was she shooting a music video? Or could it be a publicity stunt for upcoming songs? It seems unlikely that she was exploring a new career path, although her recent visits to places like downtown Florence and a Birmingham nail salon have raised plenty of questions.
Locals have ruled out any musical project with Lana Del Rey as both FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound told AL.com that there was no ongoing collaboration between them. Amidst all this speculation, one thing is clear – her visit could very well be linked to her new song “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.” The track mentions a train ride to Spain and an impromptu trip to Florence,Alabama – something only Lana Del Rey would do!
Whatever the reason may be, fans are eagerly awaiting further news from the pop icon on her unexpected sojourn in Alabama.
